Mr. Albano has published five books since 2016, starting with A Story of the Beginning, 2016; No Tears (Northern Company), 2021; A Story of the Beginning (Revised Edition), 2022; No Tears (Inheritance), 2023; and No Tears (Reckoning), 2024. He is currently working on a sixth book, No Tears (Parabellum), due out between 2024-2025. A seventh book is in the predevelopment stage.
Jason Albano’s professional career has included being a Fire Fighter & Emergency Medical Technician (2004 to 2009), working in the non-profit religious field (2010 to 2012), and working as an Early Childhood Teacher (2011 to 2021 / 2023 - present). He has attended both Red Rocks Community College and Colorado Christian University in various time periods from 2003 throughout to 2014 for various academic pursuits. Mr. Albano has had a vested interest and has studied the American Civil War, Roman Empire & Middle Ages, and Early Modern Period as a personal pursuit of his since 2003. History, however, was not his first love---that belongs to "Star Wars" and "Babylon 5" respectfully. Star Wars' Empire Strikes Back, A New Hope, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Solo: A Star Wars Story, Return of the Jedi, The Phantom Menace (all movies in that order), and The Mandalorian Seasons 1 & 2 are his favorite, while Babylon 5's seasons 2-4 share that same love. Becoming engaged with the local renaissance festival in Colorado starting in 2012, Jason realized his taste for historical fantasy and he started building the character of "Giovanni Salzano the Traveling Mercenary". This exploration of the character would lead Mr. Albano to several festivals and events across Colorado & New Mexico over the next 10 years and beyond, in addition to his participation with several Colorado-based renaissance hobby groups including The Dirty Bastards (2012-2014), The Mercenaries (2015-2016), and The Valiant Few (2016-current); see @TheValiantFew (Facebook) & @ValiantFew (Twitter). Since 2012, Mr. Albano has attended the Colorado Renaissance Festival every summer; by the summer of 2021, his wife and him could proudly say they were a "Rennie Family" as they had attended the festival every year and almost every weekend of its seasonal run with their two daughters and son since their marriage in 2016. Jason has proudly declared the Lord Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior since 2006. |
Mr. Albano and his wife, 2020.
Jason Albano roleplaying Giovanni Salzano the Traveling Mercenary in real life (2015). Per story canon, this would be roughly sometime after 1519 and before 1527. This is considered one of the most accurate real-life portrayals of The Traveling Mercenary from the book canon.
The engravings on the hat pins are not canon-correct and are rather a festival addition between 2013 and 2015 outside of the story canon before the first book was released in 2016. |
BOOK QUOTE
“He was loyal to the coin. Not much can be said of other men’s convictions. When we asked him to be a hero, he was. When we needed him to be a villain---he was that too. Sometimes, what is right and what is wrong is a hard thing. Are we God to judge a man’s actions of good or evil? Or is God the Judge and pray you, the Redeemer of men’s souls like Salzano’s?”
